How to Add a Phone Number
Phone Numbers (DIDs)
A phone number — also called a DID — is the number your customers dial to reach your business. You can add local numbers, toll-free numbers, and international numbers from supported countries.
How to Add a Number
Start the Order
Navigate to Telephony > Phone Numbers in the sidebar, then click New Phone Number.
Search for Available Numbers
Select a country (defaults to United States) and number type (local or toll-free), then click Next to see available numbers.
Choose Your Number
Browse the list and click on the number you want. The monthly fee and any setup fee are displayed alongside each number so you know exactly what it costs.
Configure Call Routing
Choose where incoming calls to this number should go. See the list of available destinations below.
Confirm Your Purchase
Review the order summary showing your selected number, fees, and account balance. Click Confirm Purchase to complete the order. Fees are deducted from your balance immediately.
Search Filters
You can narrow your search using these optional filters:
📍 State / Province
Find numbers in a specific geographic area.
🔢 Number Contains
Search for specific digits or letters (letters map to dial pad).
📞 Area Code
Search within a specific area code (e.g., 646).
Call Routing Destinations
When configuring your number, you can route incoming calls to any of these destinations:
Phone Number Fees
Phone numbers have two types of fees, both deducted from your prepaid account balance:
💳 Setup Fee
A one-time charge when you first add the number.
📅 Monthly Fee
A recurring charge, billed automatically on the 1st of each month.
Tip
Make sure your account balance is sufficient before purchasing a number. You can add funds anytime from Billing > Add Funds.
Changing Call Routing Later
You can update where a phone number routes calls at any time. Go to Telephony > Phone Numbers, click on the number you want to change, and update the Destination field.
